Job Overview
The E-commerce Marketplace Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in scaling our marketplace presence in the Mueda region. This position is designed for a strategic thinker who can manage complex logistics, optimize vendor performance, and ensure a superior customer experience. You will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end marketplace lifecycle, from onboarding high-quality sellers to ensuring timely delivery and efficient returns management. This role requires a deep understanding of digital retail trends and the ability to navigate the unique logistical challenges of the Mozambican market. As we continue to drive digital transformation, your leadership will be essential in maintaining our competitive edge and ensuring operational excellence across all product categories.
Key Responsibilities
- Optimize marketplace operations to ensure high levels of seller performance and customer satisfaction.
- Manage and scale the vendor onboarding process, ensuring all partners meet our quality and service standards.
- Collaborate with logistics partners to streamline last-mile delivery and reduce transit times.
- Analyze operational metrics to identify bottlenecks and implement continuous improvement strategies.
- Monitor inventory levels and stock availability to prevent service disruptions.
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce return rates and improve the reverse logistics process.
- Coordinate with the marketing team to align operational capacity with promotional campaigns.
- Ensure compliance with local trade regulations and e-commerce standards in Mozambique.

Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field is required. An MBA or a Master’s degree in Operations Management will be considered a significant advantage.
Experience
Candidates must possess a minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in e-commerce operations, marketplace management, or complex logistics management. Proven experience in a leadership role within a digital retail environment is highly preferred. Experience working in the African market is a plus.
Salary
The monthly salary for this position ranges from 45,000 SSP to 75,000 SSP, depending on experience, qualifications, and performance metrics.
