Job Overview

The Structural Integrity Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring the long-term stability and safety of our construction projects in the Mueda region. This position involves conducting rigorous assessments, monitoring structural health, and implementing preventative maintenance strategies for large-scale infrastructure. You will be responsible for analyzing complex data sets, performing non-destructive testing, and collaborating with site engineers to mitigate risks before they become critical issues. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed structural health monitoring and integrity assessments on ongoing and completed projects.
  • Conduct non-destructive testing (NDT) to evaluate the condition of materials and structural components.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive structural maintenance and inspection programs.
  • Analyze technical data and simulation results to predict potential structural failures or degradation.
  • Collaborate with site management to ensure all construction activities adhere to structural safety protocols.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports and recommendations for senior engineering management.
  • Monitor environmental factors that may impact the structural stability of local infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with both local Mozambican building codes and international engineering standards.

Required Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in structural analysis software and CAD tools.
  • Deep understanding of material science, specifically concrete, steel, and composite materials.
  • Expertise in non-destructive testing (NDT) methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities regarding complex engineering challenges.
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills for reporting and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and geological reports.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to work independently in remote locations.

Education

A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline is mandatory. Candidates with advanced degrees (Master’s or PhD) specializing in structural mechanics or material science will be given preference.

Experience

Applicants must possess a minimum of 5 to 7 years of professional experience in structural engineering or integrity management, preferably within the large-scale construction or heavy infrastructure sector. Proven experience working in challenging environments or remote project sites is highly desirable. Experience with international construction standards is essential for this role.

Salary

The offered salary for this position ranges from 85,000 SSP to 125,000 SSP per month, depending on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and technical expertise. This package is competitive and reflects the specialized nature of the role.
