Job Overview
The Data Privacy Officer will lead Vodacom Mozambique’s privacy program, ensuring compliance with the Mozambique Data Protection Law, GDPR, and industry best practices. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive data privacy policies and procedures.
- Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) for new projects, products, and services.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with local and international privacy regulations, including Mozambique Data Protection Law and GDPR.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for data subjects, handling access, correction, and deletion requests.
- Collaborate with IT, Legal, Marketing, and Customer Service teams to embed privacy by design.
- Lead privacy training programs and awareness campaigns for all employees.
- Prepare and submit regular compliance reports to senior management and regulatory bodies.
- Manage data breach response, including investigation, notification, and remediation.
- Stay updated on emerging privacy trends, legal developments, and industry standards.

- In-depth knowledge of data protection laws (Mozambique, GDPR, CCPA).
- Strong analytical and risk assessment capabilities.

Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Law, Information Security, Computer Science, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certification such as CIPP/E, CIPM, or ISO 27701 Lead Implementer is highly desirable.

Applicants must have a minimum of five years of hands‑on experience in data privacy, information security, or regulatory compliance within the telecommunications or technology sector. Experience working with multinational teams and handling cross‑border data transfers is advantageous.
