Job Overview

The Rural Digital Connectivity Specialist will lead the implementation of telecommunications infrastructure in remote areas of Niafunke, Mozambique. This role is critical to expanding broadband access, enabling digital education, healthcare, and economic opportunities for rural populations. The position requires collaboration with local stakeholders, technical teams, and government agencies to design and deploy scalable connectivity solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement rural broadband infrastructure projects, including 4G/5G networks and satellite connectivity solutions
  • Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for new connectivity deployments
  • Coordinate with local communities, government agencies, and partners to secure permits and resources
  • Monitor network performance and optimize connectivity solutions for reliability and scalability
  • Provide technical training to local teams on network maintenance and digital literacy
  • Develop reports on project progress, challenges, and impact metrics

Required Skills

  • Expertise in telecommunications network design and deployment
  • Experience with rural infrastructure projects in developing regions
  • Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Proficiency in GIS mapping and network planning tools
  • Fluency in Portuguese and local languages (Changana preferred)
  • Knowledge of Mozambican telecommunications regulations

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
  • Master’s Degree in Rural Development or Digital Infrastructure preferred

Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in telecommunications infrastructure projects
  • Proven track record in rural connectivity initiatives
  • Experience working in multicultural and remote environments

Salary

800,000 – 1,200,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
