Job Overview
As an AI Ethics Consultant, you will design and implement ethical guidelines for AI systems in Mozambique’s public and private sectors. This role bridges cutting-edge technology with cultural and legal frameworks to ensure responsible innovation. The position is based in Niassa, a hub for emerging tech initiatives in northern Mozambique.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop AI ethics policies aligned with Mozambican laws and international standards.
- Conduct audits of AI systems for bias, transparency, and accountability.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate ethical considerations into AI projects.
- Provide training on ethical AI practices for technical and non-technical teams.
- Monitor global AI ethics trends and adapt frameworks to local contexts.
Required Skills
- Proven expertise in AI ethics, data privacy, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of Mozambican legal and cultural landscapes.
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
- Proficiency in Python or R for algorithmic auditing.
- Experience in cross-sector collaboration (government, NGOs, private firms).
Education
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Ethics, or Public Policy.
- Certifications in AI ethics (e.g., IEEE, Partnership on AI) preferred.
Experience
- 3-5 years in AI ethics consulting, policy development, or similar roles.
- Experience in sub-Saharan Africa or emerging markets is advantageous.
Salary
1,500,000 – 2,500,000 SSP annually, with performance-based bonuses.
