Job Overview

We are seeking a Digital Forestry Management Specialist to join our team in Gorongosa, Mozambique. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing digital solutions to support sustainable forestry practices in the region.

The Digital Forestry Management Specialist will work closely with our local team to design and implement digital tools and platforms that support forest monitoring, inventory, and management. The role will also involve collaborating with local stakeholders, including government agencies, community groups, and private sector partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement digital solutions to support sustainable forestry practices in the region
  • Design and implement digital tools and platforms for forest monitoring, inventory, and management
  • Collaborate with local stakeholders, including government agencies, community groups, and private sector partners
  • Conduct fieldwork to gather data and information on forest conditions and trends
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local partners and stakeholders

Required Skills

  • Strong technical skills in digital forestry, including experience with GIS, remote sensing, and data analysis
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English
  • Experience working in a developing country context

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Forestry or related field

Experience
