Job Overview
The Senior Auditor role is a critical position within our Audit and Assurance department in Nampula. This role involves leading complex audit engagements, managing junior staff, and ensuring that our clients’ financial statements are accurate and compliant with international standards. You will work closely with senior management to identify risks and provide actionable insights that help our clients improve their internal controls and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage field audit engagements from planning to completion.
- Review financial statements and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with IFRS and local regulations.
- Identify, assess, and respond to risks within client business processes.
- Supervise, mentor, and review the work of junior audit associates.
- Communicate audit findings and recommendations to client management and senior partners.
- Ensure all audit procedures are performed in accordance with quality standards and professional ethics.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Portuguese and English.
- Leadership and team management abilities.
- High level of professional skepticism and attention to detail.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is mandatory. Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent is highly preferred and will be considered a significant advantage during the selection process.
Experience
Candidates must possess a minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in external audit, preferably within a Big Four or a similar large-scale professional services firm. Proven experience in managing audit teams and handling complex client portfolios is essential for success in this role.
Salary
The monthly salary for this position ranges from 85,000 SSP to 120,000 SSP, depending on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and performance during the interview process.
