Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Metallurgical Engineer to join our specialized mineral processing team in Tete. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and optimize metallurgical processes to maximize mineral recovery and concentrate quality.
- Design and implement new metallurgical testing protocols and pilot-scale experiments.
- Manage large-scale data analysis to monitor plant performance and identify inefficiencies.
- Collaborate with the geological and mining teams to ensure ore characteristics are integrated into processing designs.
- Oversee the implementation of new technologies to reduce water and energy consumption in processing plants.
- Ensure strict compliance with all environmental regulations and safety protocols during all processing stages.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and plant operators.
Required Skills
- Advanced expertise in hydrometallurgy and pyrometallurgy processes.
- Proficiency in metallurgical modeling software and process simulation tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities regarding complex chemical reactions.

- In-depth knowledge of mineral processing equipment and automation systems.
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Portuguese.
Education
A Master’s Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field is mandatory. A PhD in a specialized area of mineral processing is highly preferred. Candidates must demonstrate a strong academic background in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and mass transfer.
Experience
Applicants must possess a minimum of 7 to 10 years of direct experience in large-scale mineral processing operations, preferably within the coal or iron ore sectors.
