Key Responsibilities

• Conduct feasibility studies, hydraulic modeling, and water balance analyses for new and existing water supply schemes.
• Develop detailed engineering designs, specifications, and construction documents for treatment plants, pipelines, and distribution networks.
• Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and environmental engineers to integrate multidisciplinary inputs into project plans.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and risk assessments to ensure timely and cost‑effective delivery.
• Perform site inspections, oversee contractor performance, and ensure compliance with local regulations and Veolia standards.
• Engage with community leaders, government agencies, and NGOs to address stakeholder concerns and promote sustainable water practices.
• Prepare technical reports, progress updates, and documentation for internal and external review.
• Support the development of operation and maintenance manuals for handover to client teams.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in water resources software such as EPANET, HEC‑RAS, or SWMM.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
• Ability to work independently and lead multidisciplinary project teams.
• Knowledge of Mozambican water regulations, standards, and permitting processes.
• Experience with sustainable design principles and climate‑resilient infrastructure.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required. Advanced degrees or professional certifications (e.g., CEng, PMP) are considered an asset and demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning.

Experience

Applicants must have at least five years of hands‑on experience in water resources engineering, preferably within the African context. Experience managing large‑scale water supply or sanitation projects, conducting hydraulic modeling, and overseeing construction activities is essential.

Salary

The position offers a competitive salary range of SSP 250,000 to 350,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional performance‑based incentives may be provided.
