Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive inspections and testing of aircraft communication, navigation, and autopilot systems.
- Diagnose and repair complex faults in avionic equipment using specialized test sets and technical manuals.
- Execute software updates and hardware upgrades on flight management systems to enhance aircraft performance.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to implement modifications and service bulletins issued by the manufacturer.
- Maintain detailed and accurate maintenance logs in accordance with civil aviation authority regulations.
- Supervise the installation of new avionic components, ensuring precise wiring and shielding.
- Conduct pre-flight and post-maintenance ground tests to verify system integrity and safety.
Required Skills
- Expertise in reading and interpreting complex electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Proficiency in using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and spectrum analyzers for signal testing.
- Deep knowledge of ARINC 429 and MIL-STD-1553 data bus protocols.
- Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting intermittent electronic failures.
- Ability to work under pressure in high-stakes environments while maintaining strict safety protocols.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with flight crews and remote engineering support.
Education
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Avionics, Aeronautical Engineering, or a closely related technical field. Certification from a recognized aviation authority (such as EASA or FAA) is highly preferred and will be considered a significant advantage during the selection process.
Experience
A minimum of 5 to 7 years of proven experience in aircraft avionics maintenance is required. Experience working with Embraer aircraft or similar regional jets is highly desirable.
