Job Overview

This role supports The Nature Conservancy’s mission by analyzing ecological datasets to inform conservation decisions. The position requires expertise in biodiversity monitoring, data visualization, and collaboration with local stakeholders to protect Mozambique’s rich natural heritage. Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, process, and analyze biodiversity datasets from field surveys and remote sensing technologies
  • Develop spatial models to assess species distribution and habitat health
  • Create data visualizations and reports for conservation planning and policy
  • Collaborate with local communities and government agencies on biodiversity monitoring programs
  • Maintain standardized data management systems for ecological research

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and statistical analysis tools (R, Python)
  • Experience with biodiversity databases and ecological monitoring protocols
  • Strong data interpretation and presentation skills
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English
  • Ability to work in remote field locations

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Geography, or related field
  • Master’s degree preferred

Experience

Salary
