Job Overview

The Project Finance Analyst will support the Corporate Finance team in structuring, evaluating, and executing financing solutions for large‑scale projects across Mozambique. This role involves rigorous financial modeling, risk assessment, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. The analyst will play a critical role in identifying opportunities that align with the bank’s strategic focus on renewable energy, infrastructure, and sustainable development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed financial models for project financing proposals, including cash flow forecasts, debt service coverage ratios, and sensitivity analyses.
  • Conduct comprehensive due diligence on project sponsors, contractors, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Prepare credit memoranda, investment theses, and presentation materials for senior management and credit committees.
  • Collaborate with legal, risk, and compliance teams to ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor ongoing project performance, covenant compliance, and financial reporting post‑disbursement.
  • Support the negotiation of loan terms, security packages, and inter‑party agreements.
  • Assist in the preparation of market research reports on emerging sectors such as renewable energy, transport infrastructure, and agribusiness.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative financing structures, including blended finance and green bonds.

Required Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling using Excel or specialized software.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative abilities with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Portuguese.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of Mozambique’s regulatory environment for project finance.
  • Familiarity with renewable energy and infrastructure markets is highly desirable.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as CFA, CPA, or FRM are considered an advantage.

Experience

Applicants should have 3‑5 years of relevant experience in project finance, investment banking, or corporate finance, preferably with exposure to large‑scale infrastructure or renewable energy projects.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from 120,000 to 200,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and incentives are also part of the total rewards.
