Job Overview

GE Renewable Energy Mozambique is seeking a Smart Grid Integration Specialist to lead the design and implementation of advanced grid solutions in Xai-Xai. Key Responsibilities

• Design and optimize smart grid systems to integrate renewable energy sources (wind, solar) with existing power networks.
• Collaborate with engineers, policymakers, and stakeholders to ensure grid stability and compliance with national energy standards.
• Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments for grid modernization projects.
• Monitor and analyze grid performance data to identify inefficiencies and propose improvements.
• Provide technical training to local teams on smart grid technologies and maintenance protocols.

Required Skills

• Proven expertise in smart grid design, renewable energy integration, and power system analysis.
• Proficiency in grid simulation software (e.g., PSS/E, DIgSILENT).
• Strong understanding of Mozambican energy regulations and international grid standards.
• Excellent project management and cross-cultural communication skills.
• Ability to work in remote and resource-constrained environments.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, or a related field. A Master’s Degree in Renewable Energy or Smart Grid Technologies is a plus.

Experience

3-5 years of experience in smart grid integration, renewable energy systems, or power distribution. Prior experience in Sub-Saharan Africa is preferred.

Salary

2,500,000 – 3,500,000 MZN annually, with performance-based incentives.
