Job Overview

The Cybersecurity Policy Advisor will lead the development and implementation of national cybersecurity strategies, ensuring alignment with international standards while addressing Mozambique’s unique digital landscape. This role bridges technical expertise with policy-making to protect critical infrastructure, public institutions, and private sector assets from cyber threats.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and advocate for cybersecurity policies that balance innovation with risk mitigation.
  • Collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, and private sector stakeholders to align cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Conduct risk assessments and recommend safeguards for critical infrastructure (e.g., energy, finance, healthcare).
  • Provide training and capacity-building programs for policymakers and IT professionals.
  • Monitor global cybersecurity trends and adapt strategies to Mozambique’s evolving needs.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in cybersecurity policy development or regulatory compliance.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on threat modeling and risk management.
  • Excellent communication abilities to translate technical concepts into actionable policy.
  • Familiarity with frameworks like NIST Cybersecurity Framework or ISO/IEC 27001.
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English; proficiency in Swahili is a plus.

Education

  • Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Public Policy, International Relations, or related discipline.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISA, or PMP are highly desirable.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years in cybersecurity policy, regulatory affairs, or technology consulting.

Salary

1,200,000 – 1,800,000 SSP per annum, commensurate with experience and achievements.
