Job Overview

The Digital Forestry Management Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing digital solutions to support forestry management in Gorongosa National Park. The successful candidate will have a strong background in forestry management, experience with digital technologies, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement digital solutions to support forestry management in Gorongosa National Park
  • Collaborate with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of forestry management plans
  • Conduct regular monitoring and evaluation of forestry management activities to ensure compliance with national and international standards
  • Provide training and capacity building to local communities and government agencies on digital forestry management tools and techniques

Required Skills

  • Strong background in forestry management
  • Experience with digital technologies, including geographic information systems (GIS), remote sensing, and data analysis
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Forestry or related field

Experience

5-7 years of experience in forestry management
