Job Overview
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Sustainable Agriculture Specialist to join our team in Nampula, Mozambique. The successful candidate will work closely with our country office and partners to design and implement sustainable agriculture projects that benefit rural communities.
The Sustainable Agriculture Specialist will be responsible for providing technical assistance to farmers, rural youth, and other stakeholders on sustainable agriculture practices, including agroecology, conservation agriculture, and climate-resilient agriculture.
The position requires a strong understanding of sustainable agriculture principles, practices, and policies, as well as experience working with rural communities and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement sustainable agriculture projects that benefit rural communities
- Provide technical assistance to farmers, rural youth, and other stakeholders on sustainable agriculture practices
- Work closely with our country office and partners to develop and implement policies and programs that support rural development
- Conduct research and analysis on sustainable agriculture practices and policies
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, civil society organizations, and the private sector
Required Skills
- Master’s degree in Agriculture or related field
- 5-7 years of experience in sustainable agriculture, rural development, or a related field
- Strong understanding of sustainable agriculture principles, practices, and policies
- Experience working with rural communities and stakeholders
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team environment and build strong relationships with stakeholders
Education
The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in Agriculture or a related field. A Ph.D. in Agriculture or a related field is an asset.
Experience
The successful candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in sustainable agriculture, rural development, or a related field. Experience working with rural communities and stakeholders is essential.
Salary
The salary for this position is 80,000 – 120,000 SSP per year, depending on experience.

Training
