Job Overview

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Laboratory Technician to join our production facility in Mueda. This role is critical to our quality assurance process, ensuring that all raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products adhere to strict chemical and microbiological standards. The successful candidate will lead laboratory testing protocols, manage equipment calibration, and provide technical guidance to junior technicians. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform complex chemical and microbiological analyses on raw materials, syrups, and finished beverages.

  • Manage and calibrate sensitive laboratory equipment to ensure precision in all testing procedures.
  • Document and report all test results accurately, identifying any deviations from established quality parameters.
  • Collaborate with the production team to troubleshoot quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Oversee the inventory and procurement of laboratory reagents and consumables.
  • Train and mentor junior laboratory staff on standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Required Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in analytical chemistry and microbiological testing techniques.
  • Strong understanding of HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and ISO standards.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and precision in data recording and analysis.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes of quality deviations.
  • Excellent communication skills for reporting technical findings to management.
  • Proficiency in Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a closely related scientific discipline is mandatory. Advanced certifications in Quality Management or Food Safety are highly preferred.

Experience

A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in a laboratory setting within the food or beverage manufacturing industry is required. Proven experience in quality control management and team leadership is essential for this senior-level position.

Salary
