Job Overview

The Mining Geologist will play a pivotal role in Glencore’s exploration program in the Dondo region, supporting the identification, evaluation, and development of mineral resources. Key Responsibilities

• Lead field mapping, sampling, and core logging activities across target areas.
• Develop and maintain 3D geological models using industry‑standard software.
• Interpret geophysical and geochemical data to identify prospective mineralization zones.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, maps, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with drilling teams to design and supervise exploration programs.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, health, safety, and environmental policies.
• Mentor junior geologists and provide training on best practices.

Required Skills

• Strong analytical abilities with proficiency in GIS, Leapfrog, and Surfer.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report preparation and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams.
• Problem‑solving mindset with a focus on innovative exploration techniques.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and data management tools.

Education

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a closely related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CGS, PGeo) are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.

Experience

Candidates must possess at least five years of hands‑on experience in mineral exploration, preferably within copper, coal, or base metal projects. Demonstrated experience in field work, data interpretation, and geological modeling is essential. Prior experience working in Mozambique or other African mining jurisdictions is advantageous.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from SSP 250,000 to SSP 400,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses, health insurance, and retirement benefits.
