Job Overview
As a Digital Financial Inclusion Specialist, you will design and implement strategies to expand access to digital financial services for unbanked populations. This role involves collaborating with local banks, fintech startups, and government agencies to develop scalable solutions that align with national financial inclusion goals. The position is based in Mandlakaze and reports directly to the Regional Director for Southern Africa.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute digital financial inclusion strategies tailored to Mandlakaze’s economic landscape
- Conduct market research to identify gaps in financial services and design targeted interventions
- Partner with mobile network operators and financial institutions to integrate digital payment solutions
- Train local stakeholders on digital financial tools and compliance frameworks
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of financial inclusion initiatives using data analytics
- Advocate for policy reforms to support digital financial innovation in Mozambique
Required Skills
- Proven expertise in digital financial services, mobile money, or fintech solutions
- Strong understanding of financial inclusion challenges in emerging markets
- Experience with cross-sector collaboration (government, private sector, NGOs)
- Proficiency in data-driven decision-making and impact assessment
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Fluency in Portuguese and local languages preferred
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field
- Postgraduate qualification in Digital Innovation or Public Policy is an advantage
Experience
- 3-5 years of professional experience in financial services, fintech, or development programs
- Experience working in Mozambique or neighboring countries is highly desirable
Salary
- 200,000 – 300,000 SSP per month, depending on experience
