We are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Automation Engineer to join our Chokwe engineering team. The successful candidate will design, implement, and optimize automation solutions for manufacturing plants, ensuring seamless integration of hardware and software components. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems for production lines.
- Integrate industrial IoT devices and ensure secure data communication.
- Conduct feasibility studies, cost‑benefit analyses, and risk assessments for automation projects.
- Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers to create comprehensive system specifications.
- Program, test, and commission automation equipment on‑site, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing automation systems.
- Develop detailed documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and user manuals.
- Lead training sessions for client personnel on system operation and maintenance.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and propose innovative solutions to improve efficiency.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in PLC programming (Siemens S7, Allen‑Bradley, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of SCADA platforms (WinCC, Ignition, or similar).
- Experience with industrial networking protocols (PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, Modbus).
- Understanding of electrical schematics, control circuits, and safety standards (IEC 61508, ISO 13849).
- Ability to work with CAD tools for layout design.
- Excellent problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
- Effective communication skills in English; Portuguese proficiency is a plus.
- Project management experience with a focus on timeline and budget adherence.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Siemens Certified Automation Engineer) are advantageous and will be considered favorably during the selection process.
Experience
Applicants must have a minimum of five years of hands‑on experience in industrial automation engineering, preferably within manufacturing environments such as food processing, automotive, or chemicals. Demonstrated experience in leading full‑cycle automation projects from concept to commissioning is essential.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from 150,000 to 250,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and incentives are also part of the total rewards structure.
