Job Overview
The Network Optimization Engineer will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and implementing optimization strategies that enhance the performance, capacity, and reliability of TDM’s mobile and fixed‑line networks in the Nacala region. This role involves close collaboration with radio planning, core network, and field operations teams to identify bottlenecks, propose solutions, and monitor the effectiveness of implemented changes. The engineer will leverage advanced analytics, simulation tools, and real‑time monitoring platforms to ensure optimal network quality of service (QoS) and meet key performance indicators (KPIs) set by the company. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive network performance assessments using drive‑test data, KPI dashboards, and customer feedback.
- Develop and implement optimization plans for radio access networks (RAN), core transport, and backhaul segments.
- Collaborate with radio planning engineers to refine cell parameters, antenna tilts, and frequency allocations.
- Utilize simulation tools (e.g., Atoll, Planet) to model network scenarios and predict impact of proposed changes.
- Monitor post‑implementation results, generate performance reports, and adjust strategies as needed.
- Work closely with field technicians to ensure accurate configuration changes and troubleshoot issues on site.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and interns.
- Stay updated on emerging telecom technologies, standards, and best practices to recommend innovative solutions.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical abilities with proficiency in data analysis and statistical tools.

Education

Experience
Minimum of five (5) years of hands‑on experience in network planning, optimization, or performance engineering within a telecom environment. Proven track record of delivering measurable improvements in network KPIs, such as reduced call drop rates, increased data throughput, and enhanced coverage.
Salary
The competitive salary range for this role is SSP 120,000 – 180,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and incentives are also part of the compensation package.
