Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Petroleum Reservoir Engineer to join our technical team in Pemba. This role is critical to the successful development and management of our offshore assets. The successful candidate will be responsible for characterizing reservoir behavior, predicting production profiles, and optimizing recovery strategies through advanced numerical simulation and analytical modeling. This position requires a deep understanding of fluid dynamics, rock mechanics, and complex geological formations. You will work closely with geologists, drilling engineers, and production specialists to ensure the economic and technical viability of our subsea developments. Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex reservoir simulations to predict fluid flow and pressure behavior in offshore reservoirs.
- Develop and optimize field development plans (FDP) to maximize hydrocarbon recovery.
- Conduct uncertainty analysis and risk assessment for various production scenarios.
- Collaborate with the subsurface team to integrate seismic, geological, and well data.
- Provide technical oversight for well completion and production optimization strategies.
- Monitor reservoir performance and recommend interventions to mitigate production decline.
- Lead technical reviews and present findings to senior management and stakeholders.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the overall technical excellence of the department.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in industry-standard reservoir simulation software (e.g., Eclipse, Petrel, or CMG).
- In-depth knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid flow in porous media, and rock-fluid interactions.
- Strong analytical and mathematical modeling capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills for presenting complex technical data to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary projects in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong understanding of offshore production technologies and subsea completions.
Education
A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, or a closely related Earth Science discipline is required. A PhD is highly preferred for this senior-level technical position.
Experience
Candidates must possess a minimum of 8 to 10 years of direct experience in reservoir engineering, specifically within offshore or deepwater environments. Salary
