Job Overview
The Structural Integrity Engineer will be responsible for assessing, monitoring, and ensuring the structural soundness of various construction projects and existing infrastructure. This role involves conducting detailed inspections, performing complex mathematical modeling, and implementing preventative maintenance strategies to mitigate structural risks. You will work closely with site managers, architects, and geotechnical specialists to ensure that all structures meet international safety standards and local regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive structural assessments and non-destructive testing (NDT) on new and existing infrastructure.
- Develop and implement structural health monitoring (SHM) programs to detect early signs of fatigue or degradation.
- Conduct detailed finite element analysis (FEA) to simulate structural behavior under various loading conditions.
- Collaborate with the design team to review blueprints and ensure structural feasibility and compliance.
- Oversee site inspections to verify that construction activities align with approved structural designs.
- Prepare technical reports detailing structural findings, risk assessments, and recommended remedial actions.
- Manage the lifecycle of structural components, from initial design verification to long-term maintenance planning.
- Ensure all structural works comply with international building codes and local Mozambique safety regulations.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, ANSYS, or ETABS).
- Deep understanding of reinforced concrete, structural steel, and composite material behaviors.
- Strong mathematical modeling and computational analysis capabilities.
- Exceptional technical writing skills for producing detailed engineering reports.
- Ability to interpret complex architectural and geotechnical blueprints accurately.
- Strong project management and cross-functional team collaboration skills.
Education
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering is required. A Master’s degree in Structural Engineering or a related field is highly preferred and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.
Experience
Candidates must possess between 5 to 7 years of direct experience in structural engineering, specifically within large-scale civil infrastructure or heavy construction projects. Proven experience in conducting structural inspections and using advanced diagnostic tools is essential. Experience working in remote or challenging geographical locations is a significant plus.

Salary
