Job Overview

Veolia Mozambique seeks a highly skilled Circular Economy Waste Management Specialist to lead our waste diversion and resource recovery initiatives in Beira. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive waste diversion strategies targeting 50% reduction in landfill-bound materials within three years
• Design optimized collection routes and scheduling systems for recyclable materials across residential and commercial sectors
• Establish partnerships with local cooperatives and informal waste pickers to integrate inclusive recycling practices
• Conduct waste characterization studies and material flow analyses to identify recovery opportunities
• Specify, procure, and commission sorting equipment, composting systems, and materials recovery technology
• Monitor and report recycling rates, contamination levels, and environmental performance metrics to stakeholders
• Develop educational materials and training programs for community engagement and waste segregation practices
• Ensure compliance with Mozambican environmental regulations and international waste management standards
• Identify market opportunities for recovered materials and negotiate offtake agreements with buyers

Education

Experience
