Job Overview
This role focuses on designing and executing waste management strategies to reduce environmental impact and improve public health in Tete. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement waste collection, recycling, and disposal programs.
- Conduct site assessments to identify waste management challenges and solutions.
- Collaborate with municipal authorities to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Train local communities on sustainable waste practices and hygiene.
- Monitor and report on waste management performance metrics.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in waste management or environmental consulting.
- Knowledge of Mozambican environmental regulations and waste policies.
- Strong project management and stakeholder coordination abilities.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (Excel, GIS preferred).
- Bilingual (English and Portuguese) for community engagement.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Public Health, or related field.
- Advanced certification in Waste Management (CWM) is an advantage.
Experience
- 3-5 years in environmental management, preferably in emerging markets.
- Experience working with NGOs or government agencies in Mozambique.
Salary
- Competitive monthly compensation: 800,000 – 1,200,000 MZN.
