Job Overview
The Logistics Fleet Coordinator will play a vital role in our Angoche operations, ensuring that our transport fleet is utilized efficiently and that all delivery schedules are met with precision. This position involves managing a diverse fleet of vehicles, coordinating with drivers, and optimizing routes to reduce costs and improve delivery times. You will be responsible for monitoring vehicle performance, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and managing maintenance schedules to minimize downtime. Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily vehicle dispatch and routing to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Monitor driver performance and adherence to safety protocols and delivery schedules.
- Manage vehicle maintenance schedules and coordinate repairs with approved service providers.
- Analyze fuel consumption and vehicle usage data to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure all transport activities comply with local and international logistics regulations.
- Maintain accurate digital records of all fleet movements, fuel usage, and maintenance logs.
- Collaborate with the warehouse team to optimize loading and unloading processes.
- Resolve real-time logistics issues, such as vehicle breakdowns or route delays.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in logistics management software and GPS tracking systems.
- Strong analytical skills for route optimization and cost-benefit analysis.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills to manage drivers and stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of local transport regulations and safety standards in Mozambique.
- Strong problem-solving abilities to handle unexpected logistical disruptions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data management tools.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is required. Candidates with professional certifications in Fleet Management or Transportation Logistics will be given preference.
Experience
A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in fleet coordination, transport management, or logistics operations is essential. Proven experience in managing a diverse fleet of commercial vehicles and coordinating with drivers is highly desirable. Experience working within an international logistics framework is a significant advantage.
Salary
