Job Overview
The Maritime Trade Compliance Officer will play a pivotal role in ensuring adherence to international maritime regulations, customs protocols, and environmental standards at DP World Maputo’s Beira port. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and enforce compliance with international maritime trade laws and local regulations.
- Coordinate with customs authorities, shipping lines, and port stakeholders to resolve compliance issues.
- Conduct audits of cargo documentation, import/export processes, and vessel operations.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies for trade compliance violations.
- Provide training to port staff on evolving compliance standards and best practices.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of maritime trade regulations (e.g., SOLAS, ISPS Code).
- Proficiency in customs clearance procedures and documentation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Fluency in English and Portuguese.
- Experience with port management software (e.g., Port Community Systems).
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, International Trade, Legal Studies, or related field.
- Preferred: Certification in Trade Compliance (CTC) or Customs Broker license.
Experience
- 3–5 years in maritime trade compliance, port operations, or customs advisory roles.
- Experience in East African port environments is a plus.
Salary
1,500,000 – 2,000,000 MZN per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
