Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and enforce compliance with international maritime trade laws and local regulations.
  • Coordinate with customs authorities, shipping lines, and port stakeholders to resolve compliance issues.
  • Conduct audits of cargo documentation, import/export processes, and vessel operations.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies for trade compliance violations.
  • Provide training to port staff on evolving compliance standards and best practices.

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of maritime trade regulations (e.g., SOLAS, ISPS Code).
  • Proficiency in customs clearance procedures and documentation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Fluency in English and Portuguese.
  • Experience with port management software (e.g., Port Community Systems).

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, International Trade, Legal Studies, or related field.
  • Preferred: Certification in Trade Compliance (CTC) or Customs Broker license.

Experience

  • 3–5 years in maritime trade compliance, port operations, or customs advisory roles.
  • Experience in East African port environments is a plus.

Salary

1,500,000 – 2,000,000 MZN per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
