Job Overview

This role is critical to ensuring mining operations in Mocuba adhere to international safety protocols. The specialist will design, implement, and evaluate safety training programs for mining personnel, fostering a culture of risk awareness and compliance. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver customized safety training programs for mining staff at all levels
• Conduct regular safety workshops, simulations, and emergency response drills
• Assess mining site safety protocols and recommend improvements
• Collaborate with operations teams to integrate safety into daily workflows
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Mozambican and international mining safety regulations

Required Skills

• Proven expertise in mining safety standards (ISO 45001, MSHA, etc.)
• Strong presentation and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to analyze safety data and identify risk patterns
• Proficiency in creating training materials using digital tools
• Bilingual (English and Portuguese preferred)

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Mining Engineering, or related field. Advanced certification in safety management (NEBOSH, CMIOSH) is a strong advantage.

Experience

3-5 years in mining safety training or regulatory compliance roles. Experience in sub-Saharan African mining operations is highly desirable.

Salary

200,000 – 300,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
