Job Overview
Netafim Mozambique is seeking a Smart Irrigation Systems Engineer to design, implement, and maintain cutting-edge irrigation solutions in Niassa. Key Responsibilities
- Design and deploy smart irrigation systems using Netafim’s precision technologies
- Conduct site assessments to determine water usage patterns and crop requirements
- Integrate IoT sensors and data analytics tools for real-time irrigation monitoring
- Train farmers and agricultural staff on system operation and maintenance
- Collaborate with local stakeholders to develop customized water management solutions
- Monitor system performance and optimize efficiency based on environmental conditions
Required Skills
- Proven experience in agricultural engineering or irrigation system design
- Proficiency in IoT platforms and data-driven decision-making tools
- Strong understanding of sustainable water management practices
- Fluency in Portuguese and local languages (Changana preferred)
- Knowledge of Mozambican agricultural policies and climate challenges

Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field
- Master’s Degree in Water Resource Management or Agri-Tech preferred
Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in irrigation system design or agricultural technology implementation
- Previous work in Mozambique or other Sub-Saharan African regions is an advantage
Salary
250,000 – 400,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
