Job Overview
The Film Production Coordinator will oversee all aspects of documentary production, including logistics, crew management, and local stakeholder engagement. This role is critical to ensuring BBC’s mission of delivering world-class content that highlights Mozambique’s unique stories to international audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate film production schedules, budgets, and resource allocation
- Manage relationships with local communities, conservation groups, and government authorities
- Oversee camera crews, sound technicians, and on-location equipment logistics
- Ensure compliance with Mozambican media regulations and BBC ethical guidelines
- Collaborate with editors and producers to maintain creative vision and deadlines
Required Skills
- Proven expertise in film production coordination for documentary or broadcast media
- Strong project management and problem-solving abilities in remote environments
- Fluency in Portuguese and English; additional local languages (e.g., Makhuwa) preferred
- Knowledge of coastal ecosystems and conservation issues
- Excellent communication and cross-cultural collaboration skills
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Media Production, Journalism, or related field
- Postgraduate qualification in Film Studies or Environmental Communication preferred
Experience
- 3–5 years in media production or film coordination roles
- Experience working on international documentary projects
- Track record in managing multi-disciplinary teams in field settings
Salary
1,500,000 – 2,500,000 SSP per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
