Job Overview

The Satellite Communications Specialist will design, implement, and maintain satellite communication systems that support Huawei’s network services across Mozambique. This position plays a critical role in ensuring high‑availability connectivity for enterprises, government agencies, and rural communities. The specialist will work closely with cross‑functional teams, including RF engineers, network planners, and project managers, to deliver end‑to‑end solutions that meet performance, reliability, and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities

• Design and configure satellite communication architectures, including VSAT, GEO, and LEO constellations, tailored to Mozambique’s diverse terrain.
• Conduct site surveys, RF planning, and link budget analysis to ensure optimal coverage and capacity.
• Integrate satellite solutions with terrestrial networks, enabling hybrid connectivity for enterprise and public sector customers.
• Monitor network performance using advanced telemetry tools, identify anomalies, and implement corrective actions promptly.
• Collaborate with vendors and regulatory bodies to secure spectrum licenses and ensure compliance with national telecommunications policies.
• Develop technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and training materials for internal teams.
• Lead pilot projects and field deployments, providing on‑site support and knowledge transfer to local engineers.
• Participate in research and development initiatives to evaluate emerging satellite technologies and recommend adoption strategies.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in satellite communication protocols, modulation schemes, and antenna technologies.
• Strong analytical skills for link budgeting, RF planning, and performance optimization.
• Hands‑on experience with satellite equipment vendors such as Hughes, Viasat, or Inmarsat.
• Familiarity with network management platforms (e.g., NMS, OSS) and monitoring tools.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and a proactive approach to incident resolution.
• Effective communication skills in English; Portuguese proficiency is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams in dynamic environments.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related discipline is required. Advanced certifications such as Certified Satellite Professional (CSP) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) are highly desirable.

Experience

Salary
