Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior Procurement Specialist to join our growing operations in Quelimane. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans to ensure a continuous supply of critical raw materials for manufacturing processes.
- Negotiate high-value contracts with local and international suppliers to achieve optimal pricing and service levels.
- Conduct comprehensive market analysis to identify emerging trends, potential risks, and new supplier opportunities.
- Monitor supplier performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure compliance with quality and delivery standards.
- Collaborate with the logistics team to optimize inbound freight and reduce total landed costs.
- Implement sustainable procurement practices that align with BASF’s global environmental and social governance (ESG) goals.
- Manage procurement documentation and ensure all transactions adhere to local Mozambican regulations and international trade laws.
Required Skills
- Advanced negotiation skills with a proven track record of managing multi-million dollar contracts.
- Deep understanding of ERP systems (such as SAP) and procurement software.
- Strong analytical capabilities for cost-benefit analysis and spend management.
- Excellent communication skills in both Portuguese and English.
- In-depth knowledge of international trade regulations and customs procedures.
- Strong project management skills to lead complex sourcing projects.
Education
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree or professional certification such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) is highly preferred.
Experience
Candidates must possess between 5 to 7 years of professional experience in procurement or strategic sourcing, preferably within the chemical, manufacturing, or heavy industrial sectors. Proven experience in managing international suppliers and navigating complex regulatory environments is essential for success in this role.
Salary
The offered salary for this position ranges from 45,000 SSP to 75,000 SSP per month, depending on experience and qualifications. This is a competitive package designed to attract top-tier talent in the region.
