Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments of supply chain processes, including transportation, warehousing, and customs clearance.
  • Develop and maintain risk registers, dashboards, and reporting tools to provide real‑time visibility to senior management.
  • Collaborate with operations, finance, and compliance teams to design mitigation plans that align with Maersk’s strategic objectives.
  • Analyze historical data and market trends to forecast potential disruptions such as port congestion, geopolitical events, or natural hazards.
  • Implement scenario‑based modeling to evaluate the financial impact of identified risks and recommend cost‑effective solutions.
  • Support the development of business continuity plans and ensure they are regularly tested and updated.
  • Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on risk awareness and best practices.
  • Monitor regulatory changes in Mozambique and internationally that could affect logistics operations.
  • Prepare detailed risk reports for internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance supply chain resilience and efficiency.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in Excel, Power BI, or similar data visualization tools.
  • Knowledge of supply chain risk management frameworks such as ISO 31000 or COSO.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey complex risk concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multicultural teams and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Familiarity with maritime logistics, customs regulations, and freight forwarding processes.
  • Problem‑solving mindset with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential issues.

Education

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Economics, or a related discipline. Advanced certifications such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Risk Management Professional (RMP) are advantageous but not mandatory.

Experience

Applicants should have 3‑5 years of experience in supply chain risk analysis, logistics operations, or a similar role within a multinational environment. Experience in the African logistics market, particularly in Mozambique, will be considered a strong asset.

Salary
