Job Overview

The Sustainability Procurement Analyst will be responsible for integrating environmental and social criteria into the sourcing process, ensuring that Unilever Mozambique’s suppliers meet the highest standards of responsible procurement. Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and audit supplier sustainability performance against Unilever’s Responsible Sourcing Principles.
  • Develop and implement supplier improvement plans focused on carbon reduction, waste minimization, and ethical labor practices.
  • Collaborate with category managers to embed sustainability criteria into RFPs, contracts, and scorecards.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to environmental impact, reporting progress to senior leadership.
  • Conduct risk assessments for high‑impact commodities such as palm oil, tea, and packaging materials.
  • Facilitate training workshops for internal stakeholders and external suppliers on sustainable procurement best practices.
  • Support the creation of sustainability communication materials for internal and external audiences.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical abilities with proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, or similar).
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to influence diverse supplier bases.
  • Deep understanding of ESG frameworks, including GRI, CDP, and UN Sustainable Development Goals.
  • Project management experience with the ability to drive multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Fluency in English and Portuguese; knowledge of local languages is a plus.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Environmental Science, or a related discipline is required. Advanced certifications such as CIPS, CPSM, or a Master’s in Sustainability will be considered an advantage.

Experience

Applicants should have 3‑5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or sustainability roles, preferably within the consumer goods sector. Demonstrated success in implementing supplier sustainability programs and managing cross‑functional projects is essential.

Salary
